Information we use
You can browse without a public account. Your language, currency, display preferences, saved picks and last viewed item may be remembered on your device. When you open Saved, product identifiers are sent to our server to retrieve those products.
If you contact us, we receive the information you send, including your email address or Discord username. Authorized administrators sign in through Discord; we receive their Discord identifier, display name and avatar and keep records of administrative changes. KakoPicks does not receive your Discord password or collect payment details for product purchases.
Optional analytics
Only after you accept analytics, we measure page views, saved-item actions and outbound shopping clicks. This can include the page or product, time, session identifier, referring website or campaign, approximate country, device type, browser and operating system.
Our analytics use a daily identifier derived from your IP address and browser information. The analytics tables store that identifier rather than the raw IP address or full browser string. It is pseudonymous, not a promise of complete anonymity. Hosting and security services may process request information separately to deliver and protect the site.
Choosing Only necessary keeps these analytics off. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Your choice does not prevent browsing, saving products or following shopping links.
Cookies and local storage
Necessary storage supports your requested preferences, security and cookie choice. The language cookie (kakopicks-lang) and shopping-agent cookie (kakopicks-agent) last up to one year. The cookie-choice record (kp_cookie_consent) lasts 180 days. Administrator authentication cookies support a session of up to 12 hours; temporary sign-in cookies protect the login process.
With analytics enabled, kp_analytics_session and the corresponding browser session storage group activity within a 30-minute session. Rejecting or withdrawing analytics clears these analytics identifiers from this browser. Theme, currency, saved picks and the last viewed item are stored locally until you change them or clear site data. Installed-app caches keep site resources on your device.
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice at any time. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser. Clearing all site data can remove saved picks and sign you out of the administration area.
Images used for search
When you request an image search, the image is processed to find matching catalog items. If a match is not already available, a processed image may be sent to Google’s Gemini API for visual analysis. Upload only images you are entitled to use and avoid personal, confidential or sensitive content.
Our search-results database stores matching product identifiers and similarity scores, not your uploaded image or original filename. Image hashes and mathematical representations may be cached for 30 days to avoid repeated processing. A shareable search link can be opened by anyone who has it and reveals the matching products.
Services and external websites
Cloudflare provides hosting, delivery, image processing and security; Neon provides our database; Google may process requested visual searches; Discord handles administrator sign-in. Communications sent to the listed Gmail address are handled through Google’s email service. These services may process information outside your country under their own applicable terms and privacy safeguards.
Opening an agent, seller, Discord or Telegram link takes you to a separate service. Playing a requested video guide connects to YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. Those services can receive your connection data and apply their own privacy and cookie policies. Our cookie choice applies to KakoPicks, not to independent websites.
Purpose and retention
We use information to provide the functions you request, secure the service, manage authorized administrators and respond to messages. Optional analytics depend on your consent. Other processing depends on the service requested, security needs and the legal basis applicable to your circumstances.
Browser storage follows the periods above. Live-presence records are cleaned after 30 minutes of inactivity and detailed real-time events after 24 hours during routine processing. Daily analytics are kept for traffic-trend reporting and reviewed for deletion during maintenance when no longer needed. Search representations expire after 30 days. Deletion depends on the relevant processing or maintenance run; backups and infrastructure logs may follow separate retention periods.
Contact messages and administrator records are retained for the time needed to handle the request, manage access, protect the service or meet applicable obligations. Shareable search results remain available until removed. We do not operate a sale of visitors’ personal information.
Your choices and requests
You can withdraw analytics consent through Cookie settings. To request access, correction, deletion, information about processing or to object to a use of your data, contact us below. Depending on applicable law, additional rights may include restriction or portability. We may request proportionate information to verify and locate the data; do not send identity documents unless specifically needed.
Withdrawal stops future optional analytics; it does not automatically erase earlier records. You may raise a concern with the data-protection authority competent for your situation. The site is not designed to collect children’s personal information; contact us if you believe a child has provided it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and show the revised date. A change in optional tracking purposes will require a new choice before that tracking begins.
